The City of Langford is launching a Winter Night Market to this year’s “Winter Fest” festivities, with proceeds going to the South Island Primary Care Society (SIPCS).

Every year, Langford lights up the city with all-ages events and activities throughout December and January.

The Winter Fest kicks off with a soft launch of activities kicking on Friday. Then, over the weekend, the Annual Langford Light Up will take place on Saturday, with more events planned for Sunday.

Along with the weekend launch comes the Winter Night Market.

Proceeds from the market will go to the South Island Primary Care Society (SIPCS), “a nonprofit working to recruit and retain family doctors, support clinics, and close the gap in local healthcare,” states the city.

The society has run other fundraisers to help recruit doctors to the area, including a movie night earlier this fall.

“In just one year, SIPCS has brought 12 new physicians to our community, saved two clinics from closure, and opened a new location in Colwood,” states organizers with Hann Made Markets.

“In 2025–2026, they will continue expanding with new clinics, including the Goldstream Medical Clinic Brynn Maur location and more to be announced.”

Attendees can expect a spectacle of decorations, roaming carollers, holiday characters and photo opportunities with some holiday characters, one red, one green.

The market features “handmade, original, and locally designed goods that are festive, family-friendly, and community-oriented,” states organizers from Hann Made.

Supported by the HANN MADE MARKETS, the list of vendors had nearly reached capacity by early November.

List of events from Friday, Saturday and Sunday

The festivities take off on Friday with the magical carousel from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park.

“This year’s program includes a diverse array of activities suitable for families and individuals of all ages,” states the City of Langford.

Admission is free, but there is an option to provide a donation for those who are able.

Donations can come in the form of non-perishable food items for the Goldstream Food Bank, or at the event’s ‘Tip Tap stations’ in support of the South Island Primary Care Society (SIPCS).

People can also bring donations to volunteers set up at the City of Langford van parked at Veterans Memorial Park.
