Mick thinks Diamond Dealer (14:00 Kelso) could provide a lot of value against the favourite.

CLAP OF THUNDER has some good form to look toward. He had a good run at Musselborough finishing behind Tripoli Flyer. This is his first run back since wind surgery and that should make a difference. This could be the time for him to get back to winning ways. There’s plenty of scope for improvement. He’s the one for me.
He was an unlucky loser last time out, making a bad mistake at the wrong time. This contest won’t be nearly as deep as his previous. His first run over fences was a handicap against experienced rivals — this is a novices’ handicap. He’s back with his own kind and AL KALILA will take a bit of beating.
13:45 Huntingdon – De Kingpin
I’m going to take a bit of a punt with DE KINGPIN. He jumped quite big at Ffos Las but that was a good race. He’s getting a pass for that. He has some good form, winning a novice hurdle last year at Newbury. He’s being run here for a reason and it’s not hard to see him get over the line.
I think Tristan Durrell’s mount could be a bit of value against the favourite. He was a runaway winner at Chepstow two weeks ago, winning by nine lengths and he won here at Kelso a month before. There’s a lot of positives about DIAMOND DEALER. The way he finished his last race was very good so I’m going with him.
He’ll enjoy this trip much more than his previous races. He looked good at Down Royal, and stayed quite well but his jumping was much improved at Navan. KALYPSOCHANCE will be a worthy favourite. He also ran in the Cheltenham Festival bumper, that’s just good form.
This is a very good contest. We’re going to go with a bit of a flyer here in NELLS SON. He’s the value play. He loves it at Kelso, just beating Matata here last year at a very similar mark. He’s also had a run last week over hurdles at Carlisle to blow the cobwebs away so he should be ready.
There’s no doubt that Majborough is the best in this contest, but his tendency to jump to his left late on is concerning. The value bet here is FOUND A FIFTY. It’s a really good trip for him and if he’s going to win, it will be in a test like this. I think he’ll cause a surprise.
15:00 Huntingdon – Saint Sam
Djelo is bound to be popular, he won last year and he loves this track. Willie Mullins bringing SAINT SAM across here is really interesting. He’s a free going horse and this trip and track will really suit him. He could surprise us, and that’s why I’m going for him.
You can forgive GIBBS ISLAND for the run last time out. Look to his wins at Chepstow in October, Haydock and Sedgefield at the beginning of the year — that’s good form. It’s an interesting contest to finish the card out but he’s the one for me.
