A pedestrian has been killed and a woman injured after a car crashed into a medical centre in Melbourne’s north-west.

Emergency services were called to Keilor Road in Niddrie about 9.30am today after the car smashed into the front of a doctor’s office at a busy intersection.

Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance (MICA) paramedics attended the scene and treated two people who had been injured.

A male pedestrian died at the scene.

A woman, aged in her 50s, was inside the medical centre at the time and was injured.

She has been taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with upper and lower body injuries.

The male driver of the car has been taken to hospital, where he remains under police guard.
