Authorities were called to a home on Teal Avenue at Paradise Point just before 3.30am after reports of shots being fired.
It is not known if anyone was in the home at the time, but no one was injured in the incident.
Minutes later, a small hatchback was found on fire at Helensvale Road on Hope Island.
As a result, two crime scenes have been established, and police are looking to see if the incidents are linked.
Anyone with information about either incident, or who may have video or dashcam footage at the time, are asked to come forward to police.
