Watch out for Fears
Jeremiah Fears (15.8 ppg on 44 / 38 / 80 shooting) has been a bright spot for the New Orleans Pelicans, moving up to third in the latest Kia Rookie Ladder.
While putting up 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists last Thursday against the Timberwolves, Fears demonstrated the polished offensive game that’s made him a threat as a rookie.
Fears averages 12.8 drives per game — most among the rookie class — and posts 6.5 ppg off them.
You can see the vision above.
Number 0 is a blur in transition and in the lane, demonstrating a low center of gravity, excellent body control and quick-twitch ability to change direction.
“(Jeremiah Fears) sets the tone for us,” Coach James Borrego said earlier this season. “Our pace is set by him. He is a one-man fast break. He gets downhill.”
Fears, who’s played all 24 games for New Orleans, also has quick hands. He’s 10th in the NBA in total steals, with 35.
The rookie out of Oklahoma gets to show off his skills against De’Aaron Fox and the San Antonio Spurs (8 ET) on League Pass.

Welcome to a three-game night in the NBA!

Collin Gillespie will look to repeat his heroics as he and the Phoenix Suns go up against the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight on Peacock.
We’ve got three games of NBA action for you tonight on this Monday, headlined by a clash between the Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves on Peacock (7:30 ET).
The Timberwolves, currently sixth in the West, are seeking to extend their winning streak to six games, led by Anthony Edwards (28.2 ppg over the last five games) and Jaden McDaniels, who put up 27 points in the Timberwolves 109-106 win over the LA Clippers Sunday.
The Suns, currently seventh in the conference, are gearing up before entering the Emirates NBA Cup Quarterfinals on Tuesday.
With Jalen Green, Devin Booker and potentially Dillon Brooks out tonight, Collin Gillespie (18.3 ppg over his last 10 games) and Grayson Allen (17.2 ppg, 42.2 percent from three) will run the show for Phoenix.
These team engaged in a 114-113 thriller on Nov. 25, with Gillespie knocking down a game-winning floater to ice a miraculous late comeback and cap a 20-point outing.
Will there be fireworks in store tonight? Find out on Peacock.
