It’s all happening for Pauline Hanson’s One Nation — or should I say, Barnaby Joyce’s One Nation.
Joyce has finally completed his drawn-out defection, last night likening the party to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK, as if that were a good thing. He blamed Australia’s compulsory voting system for us being “late to the party”, the party being far-right populism, and all but admitted that these parties do best when not everyone has a say.
Various polls give One Nation its best-ever result, though you have to wonder if a compulsory poll would give a different result.
