Shares of Mexican media conglomerate Grupo Televisa SAB rose to the highest in two weeks following a report that the company was interested in acquiring AT&T Inc.’s Mexico unit.
Mexican columnist Dario Celis earlier reported that Grupo Televisa’s cable segment Izzi was in the final stages of a possible acquisition, vying for the unit against investment firm Cerberus Capital Management. Grupo Televisa’s local shares rose as much as 2.2% to 10.19 pesos per share.
