In an unexpectedly huge win for Australian literature, pop superstar Dua Lipa has picked Helen Garner’s This House of Grief for her monthly book club, and has an upcoming interview with the literary icon.
The selection was announced yesterday, with Dua Lipa explaining Garner’s book — the devastating telling of the trial of Robert Farquharson, who drove his car into a dam, killing his three young sons, in 2005 — is “not simply a courtroom drama but a sharp and forensic analysis of the human condition”.
