A Collingwood football department staffer has resigned following an incident in an Alice Springs hotel last month.
The junior staffer, who is not a coach or former player, was found to have behaved inappropriately towards another person at the hotel, a senior club source familiar with the incident has told this masthead.

He tendered his resignation last week, and it was accepted immediately by the Magpies. The club had conducted an investigation into the incident.
Collingwood’s playing group and football staffers were in Alice Springs as part of their annual trip to the Northern Territory, where they have a next-generation academy zone.

The AFL was made aware of the incident, but the league’s integrity unit did not become involved, as the staffer quit.
Collingwood confirmed the resignation in a statement on Thursday morning.
“Collingwood can confirm that an incident occurred during recent interstate travel that required investigation by the club,” the Magpies’ statement said.
“As soon as the club became aware of the incident, it moved quickly to address the matter and during this process, the employee involved tendered their resignation, which the club accepted.
“Our focus remains on supporting all team members and ensuring our environments remain professional and consistent with the values we stand for.”
