Oireachtas transport committee members have expressed “shock” at a claim that Irish Coast Guard search and rescue (SAR) helicopter crews were threatened with disciplinary action if they logged 24 hours shifts as working for 24 hours.
The claim was made by Fórsa trade union representatives at an Oireachtas transport committee hearing on Wednesday into working time hours for SAR air crews.
