UPDATE: Police have revoked an earlier emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) at Marsden.
Initial information indicates that around 8:30am, officers were called to a Maple Street address in regard to an unrelated matter before an armed person was spotted by officers inside the residence.
While officers were able to facilitate for three people to exit the address, it was reported that one person was still inside the property with a firearm.Â
Due to public safety concerns, an emergency declaration was made just after 10am.
Around 12:30pm, officers gained entry to the property and confirmed that no persons were inside, and the emergency declaration was revoked shortly thereafter.
A crime scene has now been declared at the Maple Street address, and investigations into the initial disturbance and substantiating the reports of the armed person are ongoing.
The three people from the address are assisting police with their enquires.
Investigators are appealing to anyone with relevant information or CCTV/dashcam footage from the area this morning to come forward.

The emergency declaration encompasses Oregan Street, Hickory Street, Chambers Flat Road, Bunya Street, and Birch Street.
Residents in these streets are urged to remain indoors and the public are advised to avoid the area.
