Residents are urged to stay out of the evacuation areas, away from floodwater and off all flooded or water-covered roads for their own safety and to ease strain on emergency responders.

The reception centre at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre (2499 McMillan Road) will be open until 10 p.m. to provide immediate shelter and assistance for residents impacted by these orders. The centre will reopen Friday morning at 8 a.m. To date, a total of 116 individuals (53 families) have checked in with the centre, with 15 families being provided with overnight lodging.
