They said crews immediately worked to extinguish the fire and were able to suppress it at about 7.40pm.
A witness told the Herald it was believed the fire started inside one of the buildings which had only just been renovated.

The Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson said they have a fire investigator attending.
“It hasn’t been flagged as suspicious.
“We’ve still got three fire trucks and a support vehicle on scene.”
The spokesperson said the blaze is yet to be fully extinguished, but they are working on hot spots.
Queenstown Lakes District Council, which owns and operates Frankton Golf Centre, has been approached for comment.
