A teenager is now being treated for life threatening injuries after a shooting occurred in North York near Varna Dr and Flemington Rd.

Toronto police say a 16-year-old boy was shot late Friday night in the North York area of Varna Drive and Flemington Road.

Officers and paramedics were called to the scene at around 11:03 p.m., where they located a teenage boy suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

It’s unclear what led up to the incident but officials did emphasize that the investigation is ongoing.

No suspect information has been released.
