A senior Israeli official said that contrary to the initial intention, the international stabilization force in Gaza will not consist only of Muslim and Arab countries. At least one European country has expressed willingness to send troops, but the Americans are not satisfied with this and are looking for additional countries. Other nations have offered to assist with training, guidance and funding but still fear sending soldiers who might confront Hamas. The plan is to initially deploy the force in areas where few Hamas members remain or where the population does not submit to its authority.
