Spanish police announced they have arrested a gang that smuggled hashish from Morocco using helicopters. According to the statement, these helicopters transported the drugs across the Mediterranean Sea to southern Spain, from where they were distributed by vehicles throughout Europe. It was also reported that each helicopter could transport between 500 and 900 kilograms. Six people were arrested, with the involvement of authorities in Morocco, Belgium and Sweden. During raids in the cities of Malaga, Almeria and Murcia, one helicopter was seized, along with 657 kg of hashish, five weapons, cash and vehicles.
