Conor McGregor has wed his long-term partner Dee Devlin in a top-secret ceremony held in Vatican City.
The pair exchanged vows in the stunning Chiesa di Santo Stefano degli Abissini on Friday afternoon. McGregor’s security team ensured that the public was kept at bay, with locals prohibited from snapping photos as Dee made her entrance.
Reports say that the church was adorned with thousands of white roses and the couple made their entrance through an archway. A quartet provided the musical backdrop while a 10-member choir added to the intimate atmosphere of the ceremony.
It is understood that around 150 guests were kept waiting for over an hour before the ceremony got underway at 12.12pm on December 12, Dublin Live reports. Weddings in the Vatican are a rarity, typically reserved for specific situations and necessitating special arrangements with authorities. It is believed that high-ranking Vatican officials had reservations about making the church available to the former dual-weight UFC champion.

However, after years of intermittent planning, the couple have finally said their “I dos”, almost two decades after they first met. The duo initially crossed paths in 2008 in a Dublin nightclub where Dee was employed.
At that time, McGregor was an aspiring mixed martial artist, and Devlin has been by his side supporting him every step of the way since then.
Last year, McGregor was found civilly liable for the rape of Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel room. He was ordered to pay €250,000 in damages, alongside roughly €1.3 million in legal fees. More recently, the Dublin fighter saw his appeal against the ruling thrown out by the Supreme Court, who determined he’d received a fair trial and declined to permit any further appeals.
During a frank interview with RTE in 2017, the MMA star was questioned about marrying Devlin, responding: “We just dropped a bloody bomb on a christening for the young boy. Let me chill for a minute, give me time. I’m still only 29.”
Last year, he unveiled his intentions to tie the knot with Devlin in the near future. “My lady is my long-time lady,” he declared. “We are set to get married soon, we are just trying to find a location. I am ready to go; we are just trying to get a location.”
The couple share four children. Their eldest, Conor Jack McGregor Jr, arrived in May 2017. They welcomed their daughter, Croia, in January 2019. Their second son, RÃan, was born in May 2021 and their youngest lad, Mack, made his entrance into the world in November 2023.
