A man, aged in his 20s, has been injured after sustaining injuries in a shooting in north Dublin, gardaí have said.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the incident, which happened in Coultry Terrace in Ballymun shortly after 7pm.
The man was taken to hospital for treatment of injuries that are believed to be non-life threatening at this time.
The scene has been preserved for forensic examination.
Gardaí said a vehicle was discovered on fire a short time later on Kilbarron Road in Dublin 5.
In a statement, An Garda Síochána said it is “believed that these two incidents may be connected”.
They are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed either incident to come forward.
Road users who may have footage, including dashcam, and were travelling in the area of Coultry Terrace and Kilbarron Road between 6:50pm and 8:10pm are asked to make this material available to gardaí.
Investigations are ongoing, gardaí said.
