The couple have three children Jake, Nick and Romy and Reiner is the adoptive father the daughter of his first wife, the late actress and director Penny Marshall.
Representatives for Reiner are yet to comment.
Reiner was a prominent director, his work included Stand By Me (1986), A Few Good Men (1992) and The Bucket List (2007).
He was also known for his acting, appearing in New Girl, The Bear and The Wolf of Wall Street.
