A child sustained life-threatening injuries and three others were seriously injured in a collision Saturday near Perth, Ont., between a Ontario Provincial Police cruiser and a pickup truck.
The collision occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 7 between Drummond School Road and Drummond Concession 7.
According to an OPP news release, an officer was on patrol in a marked cruiser when they were struck by the pickup truck.
The child in the truck was flown to a regional trauma centre by helicopter, while two others in the truck who were seriously injured were also taken to hospital.
The officer behind the wheel of the police cruiser was also taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, OPP said.
Highway 7 was closed in the area for the investigation but reopened around 4:20 a.m. on Sunday.
