The two right lanes of Interstate 90 are closed at Milepost 36 due to a slide.

NORTH BEND, Wash. — Another debris slide is impacting eastbound traffic on Interstate 90 headed over Snoqualmie Pass.

Two right lanes were closed at milepost 36 past North Bend due to a slide around 7:30 a.m. on Monday, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. The left two lanes remain open.

The slide happened down the hill alongside the freeway, leading to erosion along the edge of the roadway, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Crews are on the way to assess the hillside, WSP said in a post on X.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the area and should prepare for delays.

This is the third slide in a week to affect the eastbound lanes. On Dec. 8, eastbound I-90 closed overnight at milepost 34 due to a “large amount of debris” that came down the hillside.

On Dec. 10, a slide blocked the freeway from Snoqualmie to North Bend for just over 24 hours.

The slide on Monday comes as another atmospheric river takes aim at the region, bringing additional rainfall, increasing the chances of already full rivers flooding, and raising the risk of landslides.
