Trago said the announcement of the closure of the Staple Hill restaurant at Newton Abbot followed a period of consultation in which a decision was made with “careful consideration”.
In Newton Abbot a total of 12 staff, seven who work at the restaurant and five who work at the leisure park, are facing redundancy. The restaurant is set to cease trading on 31 December, Trago said.
It said the leisure park at Newton Abbot would also close but the steam railway would remain open while Trago “actively explores sustainable options to enable it to continue operating in the future”.
Also, in Liskeard, two staff are set to lose their jobs through redundancy after the announcement of the restaurant closure.
The Keg and Kettle will have its final day on 22 December.
