It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary
Louise Hay on December 12, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on
June 1, 1943, Mary was a devoted mother, cherished family member and a
beloved friend to many. She will be remembered for her kindness,
generosity, and unwavering commitment to her community.
Mary dedicated countless hours to volunteer work, serving at
the Veterans Hospital, Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, the Lung
Association, and the Salvation Army. She was also an active member of
the Ladies Auxiliary, Royal Canadian Legion, proudly participating in
the color party and in her younger years, played the tambourine at the
Salvation Army.
Her Legacy is one of compassion and resilience. Mary had a
gift for making everyone feel valued and loved, whether she had known
them for years or just met them.
Mary is survived by her children, John Farkas (Kim) of
Fredericton, Ann Farkas Boone (John) of Calgary, Susan
Fillatre (Troy) of Airdrie; her grandchildren, Aaron Farkas (Katrina),
Jamie Farkas (KC), Chantel Bronnconnier (Adam), Dustin Boone (Shania),
Kyle, Matthew; her great-grandchildren, Miles, Briar, Bryn, Walker and
Lane; one brother, Arthur Hay, and a long-time special
friend Robert Timms.
Mary is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Jennie (Titus)
Hay; her much loved granddaughter, Tess Farkas; sisters, Rebecca
(infant) and Jean Bryce.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday December 16, 2025, from
2-5pm at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road,
Fredericton, NB. The funeral will be held at the Salvation
Army Church, 531 St. Mary’s Street, Fredericton, NB on
Wednesday December 17, 2025, at 4pm.

may be to the Salvation Army, Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity
