Eric Richard Joseph Cardinal is known to frequent Timmins, Magnetawan, Elliot Lake and Toronto. Police are on the hunt for him after he allegedly breached conditions of his release
A 39-year-old federal offender who is known to frequent communities around Greater Sudbury is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant as a result of a breach of his statutory release.
The Ontario Provincial Police Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the man, Eric Richard Joseph Cardinal, who is known to frequent Timmins, Magnetawan, Elliot Lake and Toronto.
Cardinal is described as an Indigenous male, 39 years old, who stands five feet (152 cm) and weighs 160 lbs. (73 kgs) with a fair complexion. He is usually clean shaven, has brown hair and hazel eyes. Cardinal also has a dragon tattoo on his right arm, an OPP release states.
Cardinal is serving a three-year, three-month sentence for:
Robbery
Armed robbery
Assault cause bodily harm
Criminal harassment
Theft under $5000
Fail to comply with order – at large
Fail to comply – probation order (two counts)
