We are broken
hearted to announce the passing of Stacy Diane (Partridge)
Thompson-Small on Sunday, Dec.14 in St Martha’s Hospital,
Antigonish.

Born the
daughter of Julie (Fenton) and Tom Partridge, North Grant, Stacy came
into this world battling meningitis, and was immediately rushed to the
IWK, where she spent her first three months. She overcame
those early struggles and was soon a happy and affectionate little
girl who loved anything with four legs, especially kittens and dogs.
She also loved playing baseball, at which she
excelled.

After spending
several years in Ontario, she and her family returned home to
Antigonish for good, to be closer to family and where she resumed
life- long friendships. Stacy was a devoted mother to her four
children, whom she loved fully and
unconditionally.

Just over two
years ago, she entered a long and very difficult battle with cancer,
and although it was a rare and very aggressive form, she met the
challenge with a strength and determination that amazed both her
family and her cancer- care team. Through endless hours of grueling
chemo and radiation, and numerous medications, she fought back with
everything she had. Her determination gave us all
hope.

Stacy was so
fortunate to have her best friend and partner, Shane by her side
throughout her entire journey. He and her children and grandchildren
were her reason for living.

Stacy is
survived by her beloved husband Shane Small, her children Brittany,
Brandon and Connor Thompson and Avery Small; grandchildren Lauren and
Oakley; her parents Julie Fenton (Eric Hayne) and Tom (Lori)
Partridge;  brothers Trevor and Adam Partridge ,and a large
extended family.

She was
predeceased by her former husband, Claude Thompson, and grandparents
Bill and Phyllis Partridge, Charlie and Alice Fenton; step-
grandfather, Austin Strickland.

Funeral
service will be held Saturday, Dec.20 at 2:00 in  St. James
United Church, with Rev. Peter Smith officiating. A family burial will
be held in the spring.

The family
would like to thank the amazing doctors and nurses who looked after
Stacy, both in Antigonish and Sydney. Their kindness and compassion is
so greatly appreciated.

If desired,
donations in Stacy’s memory may be made to the St. Martha’s
Cancer Unit. Online condolences:
