A fundraiser has been set up to help cover funeral costs and other urgent expenses for the family of a young father who tragically lost his life following a collision in Tipperary.

Gardai and emergency services were called to the scene following reports of a collision involving two cars, which occurred on the Frank Drohan Road (N24) in Tipperary at approximately 1.10 am on Sunday, December 14.

Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, Julio Betin, aged in his 30s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Julio, from Brazil, was the sole provider for his family. He is survived by his beloved daughter and pregnant wife, who is expected to give birth next week.

A GoFundMe has now been launched to help raise funds for Julio’s funeral and other expenses his wife may face in this difficult time.

The fundraiser reads: “We are heartbroken to be raising funds for the funeral and urgent expenses of our dear friend Julio Betin, who tragically passed away in a car accident on Sunday, December 14. Julio leaves behind his wife and children, including a baby he was so excited to welcome as his wife is due to give birth on December 24.

“Having only recently arrived from Brazil, Julio was the sole provider for his family, and his sudden passing has left them facing unimaginable grief and financial hardship. Any support, no matter how small, would mean the world to his family during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.”

So far, over €22,500 has been raised out of the €25,000 target from 400 donors. To check out the GoFundMe, click here.

May he rest in peace.
