Manchester United are pushing to sign Benjamin Sesko. Here is the latest on the deal.
Benjamin Sesko is Manchester United’s top striker target, with talks accelerating over the past week.
United recruitment chief Christopher Vivell is leading the charge to sign the player he once scouted and signed for Red Bull Salzburg.
Now at German club RB Leipzig, a fee of £64 million plus add-ons has been set for Sesko, similar to the amount United paid for Rasmus Hojlund.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Manchester United and Benjamin Sesko, via his YouTube channel.
Romano says he understands Benjamin Sesko is interested in signing for Manchester United, despite competing interest from Newcastle.
He explains: “Benjamin Sesko is really open to joining Manchester United. Even without Champions League.”
Romano adds that the topics of conversation between club and player are focused on the sporting project rather than the financial details.
He said: “Now the conversation between Sesko and Manchester United is entering into details of the project, the vision and what they want to do. It’s not only the financial details, United are talking to RB Leipzig and the player’s agent, but also the project.
“United are entering the details of the vision they have for Benjamin Sesko and the player is open to the move.”
One complicating factor could be Rasmus Hojlund’s clear intent to stay at United despite the links to Sesko. It’s unknown whether this could deter the Slovenian.
Romano on Sesko decision timeline
Ahead of Manchester United’s 4-1 win over Bournemouth in pre-season, the situation was developing so rapidly that it appeared the deal might get agreed this weekend.
Romano has pumped the brakes a little, insisting that Benjamin Sesko is not ready to instantly decide on Manchester United’s proposed interest.
He said: “Sesko will not be deciding today or tomorrow, it’ll take some days, not too long, but some days.
“Manchester United feel like the player is open to having this conversation, to discuss about the project and the vision. Sesko and Manchester United is something that’s absolutely concrete.”
Meanwhile United and RB Leipzig are set to make a bid for the forward. Once Sesko gives his clear green light, negotiations could begin.
