Steady rainfall Thursday and Friday runs the risk of triggering floods across the already-soaked states.
PORTLAND, Oregon — The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for northwestern Oregon and southern Washington from Thursday until Saturday.
Multiple rivers are expected to flood in Oregon and Washington, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Most of the region is under a Flood Warning or Watch.
People who live near flood-prone roadways should be aware of the dangers that even just a few inches of water on the roadway can cause. It only takes 6 inches of fast-moving water to sweep an adult off their feet, and only a foot of water to carry away most cars, according to National Weather Service.Â
