US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was asked about the possibility of Hamas keeping “light weapons” and responded that “if Hamas can threaten or attack Israel, then there will be no peace. If in two years Hamas fires rockets or carries out another attack like October 7 – there will be no peace.” According to him, “You can’t convince anyone to invest in Gaza if they believe another war is going to happen in two or three years. Who would invest in building a place that will be destroyed again in war?”
