The Lebanese newspaper “Al-Akhbar,” affiliated with Hezbollah, reported from a senior Egyptian official that the gas deal with Israel is part of broader trade agreements that Washington is working to formulate between the countries in an attempt to ease tensions. The official added that “the goal is to reintegrate Israel into the region and ease its isolation following the aggression against Gaza.”
