WASHINGTON (TNND) — After years of pressure from both Capitol Hill and in the public arena, the long-sealed Jeffrey Epstein files have finally begun being released.
The Department of Justice is releasing “several hundred thousand” files on Friday, but Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche indicated it was not including everything in the department’s possession as required by the legislation.
“I expect that we’re going to release more documents over the next couple of weeks. So today, several hundred thousand and then over the next couple weeks, I expect several hundred thousand more,” Blanche confirmed to Fox News Friday.
The National News Desk is sharing all of the latest information from the newly released files in the story below.
The following links contain the files dropped by the Department of Justice on Friday.

In a letter to Congress obtained by the New York Times, Blance said the files released Friday include the following information:
Portions of the FBI’s investigative files for its 2006 and 2018 cases against EpsteinIt’s 2019 criminal case against Ghislaine MaxwellGrand-jury materials from all three casesMaterial from the FBI’s investigation into Epstein’s death in federal prison in 2019
We also took a look back at how we got here, the documents you may never see and a recap of the past documents that have been released over the last few years.
How we got here
In November, Congress overwhelmingly approved a bill requiring the DOJ to unseal all relevant documents. President Trump signed the Epstein Transparency Act, setting a running clock to Friday, December 19, for the DOJ to get those files released.
A judge ruled on December 10 that grand jury transcripts from Jeffrey Epstein’s 2019 sex-trafficking case may be unsealed. A day prior, a different federal judge ordered the release of records from Maxwell’s 2021 sex trafficking case, while another judge approved the unsealing of transcripts from an abandoned Epstein federal grand jury investigation in the 2000s.
However, the bill also includes built-in exemptions allowing the DOJ to temporarily withhold documents under specific conditions.
The DOJ may delay disclosure if releasing a document would “jeopardize an active federal investigation or ongoing prosecution,” so long as the withholding is “narrowly tailored and temporary.”
It’s important to note that days before Congress passed the bill, President Trump ordered the DOJ to open new investigations into several Democrats with ties to Epstein, including former President Bill Clinton, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman, and executives connected to JPMorgan.
Because the investigations are legally “active,” the DOJ could argue that many Epstein-related materials fall under that exemption.
Permanently off-limits
Even if the DOJ releases every unclassified file, one major category of records is off-limits: the sealed Epstein grand jury materials.
In August, a federal judge ruled that approximately 70 pages of federal grand jury records must remain sealed, regardless of what Congress passes. Because grand jury secrecy rules are controlled by the judiciary, not lawmakers, Congress cannot override that ruling.
CNN reported that the judge rejected efforts to release those records on August 20, 2025. That means those pages will not be included and may never be made public without a future judicial order.
Past documents released
December 18, 2025: House Oversight Democrats release 68 more photos from Epstein’s estate
Just a day before the deadline for the DOJ to release the Epstein files, House Oversight Democrats announced the release of more photos from Epstein’s estate .
“We will continue releasing photographs and documents to provide transparency for the American people,” Oversight Democrats wrote on the social media platform, X. “It’s time for the Department of Justice to release the files.”
One of the pictures shows a Ukrainian passport and a screenshot of messages. One of the messages reads, “I have a friend scout she sent me some girls today.” Another message reads, “I will send u girls now.”
December 12, 2025: More photos released from Epstein’s estate of Clinton, Trump, Bill Gates
House Oversight Democrats again released several new pictures from Epstein’s estate, with some pictures showing President Donald Trump, former President Bill Clinton and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.
“Oversight Dems received 95,000 new photos from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate,” Oversight Democrats wrote on the social media platform X on Friday morning. “These disturbing images raise even more questions about Epstein and his relationships with some of the most powerful men in the world.”
The Dems then later shared more photos, with one image showing Epstein in a bathtub.
December 3, 2025: Democrat Oversight Committee releases pictures from Epstein’s island in the Virgin Islands
At the start of House Democrats’ growing pressure campaign for the DOJ to make the Dec. 19 deadline, House Oversight Democrats released the first batch of never-before-seen pictures from Epstein’s island in the Virgin Islands.
“Oversight Dems have received never-before-seen photos and videos of Jeffrey Epstein’s private island that are a harrowing look behind Epstein’s closed doors,” Oversight Democrats wrote on X. “See for yourself. We won’t stop fighting until we end this cover-up and deliver justice for the survivors.”
The images show beds, a chalkboard with names redacted, and a room with a dental chair included masks hanging on the wall.
There was also video footage released by Oversight Democrats that shows an outdoor pool with a statue in front of it.
Another picture shows four brown and white chairs in a circle in front of the chalkboard. There are words redacted from the chalkboard but the words that are visible include “power” and “plants.”
November 12, 2025: READ: Thousands of Epstein files released by Democrats and Republicans
House Oversight Democrats released new emails between Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell where Epstein calls President Donald Trump “the dog that hasn’t barked.” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt defended Trump after the release, calling the story a political ploy.
This prompted Republicans on the House Oversight Committee to later release 20,000 new documents from the Epstein estate, including more emails, court documents from Epstein’s cases, videos, photos, and more.

September 2, 2025: House Oversight releases over 33,000 pages of Epstein documents amid transparency push
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee released 33,295 pages of documents related to convicted Epstein and the crimes he committed.
Although this is the first time the Oversight Committee has released these documents, they contain information previously seen by the public.
This includes documents and surveillance video from the night of Epstein’s death and court filings from Ghislaine Maxwell. The main contents of the documents include flight logs, court filings and surveillance footage.

August 22, 2025: Maxwell ‘does not believe’ Epstein killed himself; DOJ unveils transcripts
The Justice Department has released hours of interviews between a top federal prosecutor and Ghislaine Maxwell, the only person convicted or held civilly liable for a role in Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche conducted the interviews with Maxwell in a federal prison in Tallahassee, where she was held until recently.
Maxwell said she never witnessed Donald Trump behave in an “inappropriate” manner. She also denied the existence of a “client list” for Epstein and reiterated her belief that Epstein did not kill himself.
She also claimed Epstein had told her he had a heart condition that prevented him from having normal sexual intercourse.
Authorities have published hundreds of pages of transcripts and audio recordings of the interview on the DOJ website.

July 24, 2025: Maxwell’s birthday booklet for Epstein reveals big names, including Trump and Clinton
As calls increase to release Jeffrey Epstein’s files, new information regarding a booklet of vulgar letters sent to Epstein for his birthday has arisen.
The Wall Street Journal has previously reported that President Donald Trump was included in the booklet, claiming that Trump drew a “bawdy” photo that pictured “the outline of a naked woman,” signed “Donald” below her waist.
The message from Trump reportedly said, “Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret.”
Trump denied he wrote the letter to the Journal.
This is not me. This is a fake thing. It’s a fake Wall Street Journal Story.”
He added that he does not draw pictures of women.
Ghislaine Maxwell put together the booklet, which contained a collection from dozens of Epstein’s associates, the Journal said. In addition to Trump, Maxwell had other big names write letters such as Bill Clinton, Vera Wang, Leon Black, Nathan Myhrvold, James ‘Jimmy’ Cayne, Alan ‘Ace’ Greenberg, and Mort Zuckerman.
February 27, 2025: Justice Department’s Epstein files include old flight logs and redacted address book
Attorney General Pam Bondi released government documents related to Epstein, but the first wave of files posted on the Justice Department website has largely been circulating in the public domain for years and didn’t include any new bombshells about the sex trafficking case that has been a favorite subject of conspiracy theorists.
The small batch of documents included copies of flight logs from Epstein’s private plane, which have long been available in multiple court cases, and a heavily redacted photocopy of an address book purportedly compiled by Epstein and his longtime confidante Ghislaine Maxwell, which has been cited in media accounts for many years.
The Justice Department also released a blacked-out list of masseuses and an evidence list showing entries for more than 150 items, including nude images, massage tables, sex toys and other items. There wasn’t any indication whether the list was from Epstein’s case, Maxwell’s case, or some other investigation.
January 9, 2024: 5th batch of Jeffrey Epstein docs further detail allegations against prominent figures
A fifth batch of documents from a court case connected to Epstein was unsealed and included more allegations against prominent figures.
The documents stem from a 2016 civil lawsuit involving Epstein-accuser Virginia Giuffre, who alleged Epstein had flown her around the world for sexual encounters with billionaires, politicians, royals and heads of state.
In the latest round of documents, Giuffre accused Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, who was Epstein’s longtime girlfriend and accomplice, of sex trafficking her to the following men:
Bill RichardsonMarvin MinskyJean-Luc BrunelLes Wexner
Wexner is the only man of the four who is still alive. Richardson died in 2023; Brunel died in 2022; and Minsky died in 2016. All of the men named by Giuffre denied her allegations.

January 8, 2024: 4th batch of Jeffrey Epstein docs include photos of young girls on late sex offender’s private island
A fourth batch of court documents from a lawsuit connected to Epstein was unsealed.
The latest round of documents included photos of girls and young women posing together on what appears to be Epstein’s private island, Little St. James Island, in 2006.
Ghislaine Maxwell, who was Epstein’s longtime girlfriend and accomplice, is seen in a few of the images, as is Epstein.
In the documents, Sarah Ransome, who is an alleged victim, noted the girls were given Victoria’s Secret outfits, which included clothing, bikinis, and nightwear, when they arrived at the island.

January 5, 2024: 3rd batch of Jeffrey Epstein documents released
A third batch of documents related to Epstein was released.
The batch, which is over 1,300 pages, touches on Epstein’s expansive network of famous people, a call with former film producer and convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein, testimony from a former boyfriend of victim Virginia Giuffre and searches of British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell’s devices.
Juan Alessi, a former employee of Epstein, said during the deposition that Epstein knew “many” celebrities and well-known people who would visit his home, including British royal family member Andrew Edward and his wife Princess Sarah, former President Bill Clinton, several pageant queens, Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz, Princess Diana’s secretary, Trump and Robert Kennedy Jr.

January 4, 2024: More Epstein documents released, depositions give closer look at alleged victim abuse
At least 19 additional court documents consisting of more than 300 pages were unsealed in a lawsuit that involves Epstein.
The new documents are from a 2015 lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre, an alleged trafficking victim, against British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, who was Epstein’s ex-girlfriend, as well as his household manager and chief recruiter of young, vulnerable females.
Lawyers for Maxwell accuse reporter Sharon Churcher of acting as a “friend” rather than a journalist and helping Giuffre concoct “false stories” about Prince Andrew and Alan Dershowitz.
Giuffre withdrew her claims about Dershowitz in 2022, saying she “may have made a mistake” in identifying him as an abuser. She said she “was very young at the time” and “it was a very stressful and traumatic environment.” Dershowitz campaigned to get documents related to Giuffre’s lawsuit unsealed, arguing that they would make his innocence more clear.
Giuffre settled a lawsuit against Prince Andrew in 2022.

January 3, 2024: Clinton, Trump among high-profile people named in unsealed Epstein docs, no misconduct alleged
The first court documents that list the names of people allegedly connected to Epstein began being made public.
The information was included in previously sealed court documents.
Former President Bill Clinton and former President Donald Trump were among nearly 200 prominent figures who were expected to be named. While both were mentioned, neither man was accused of any misconduct involving Epstein.
In one of the documents, Johanna Sjoberg, who is one of the women who accused Epstein of abuse, said Epstein once told her “Clinton likes them young, referring to girls.”In a deposition document with Ghislane Maxwell, she stated “just so we are clear, the allegations that Clinton had a meal on Jeffrey’s island is 100 percent false.”
In another document, Sjoberg responded “no” when asked if she ever massaged Trump.
