A young man has been hospitalised following an assault in north Dublin on Friday evening.

The incident occurred at the pedestrian bridge at Finglas Bypass in Dublin 11 at approximately 6:30pm. A man in his 20’s was brought to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A technical examination has since been conducted by the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them. A garda spokesperson said: “Any road users who were travelling on the Finglas Bypass / North Road between 6:00pm and 6:45pm on Friday 19th December 2025 and who may have video footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí. “Anyone with any information is asked to contact Finglas Garda Station on 01 666 7500, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station. Investigations are ongoing.”
