A man in his 20s was taken to hospital after a serious assault in Finglas, Dublin, on Friday evening.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the reported assault at the pedestrian bridge at Finglas Bypass in Dublin 11 at approximately 6:30pm yesterday.

The man was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

A technical examination has since been conducted by the Divisional Scenes of Crime Unit, a garda spokesperson confirmed.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to contact them.
