It will be very cold tonight with frost and ice developing under clear skies with lowest temperatures of -2 to +2 degrees in calm conditions.
Rain will linger over parts of Ulster, Leinster and east Munster, heavy at times, with scattered showers elsewhere, turning wintry at times.

Sunday’s highest temperatures will be between 4-8 degrees. Sunday night will be dry for most with spells of rain over Leinster gradually easing overnight as it clears northwestwards over parts of Munster and Connacht.
The evening’s highest temperatures will be 3-8 degrees for Ulster, Leinster and most of Connacht.
It will be between -2 to +2 for Munster and south Connacht.
Mist and fog patches are possible with the chance of frost and ice forming in places under clear skies too. Monday will bring showery spells of rain over parts of Ulster and Leinster, becoming more persistent elsewhere.
There is also a potential for mist and fog overnight.
The daytime will see temperatures of 4-8 degrees, in just a light easterly breeze. Monday evening will be cloudy overnight with scattered showers remaining over coastal regions, with lingering fog in places.
There will be frost and ice in places early on in the night with lowest temperatures of -1 to +4 degrees, coolest in the southwest. Uncertainty remains, but Tuesday will see further showery spells of rain, with drier periods at times too.
The highest temperatures will be between 5-9 degrees with just light variable breezes. There will also be mist and fog in places. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be rather cold and dry with crisp winter sunshine.
Frost and ice will form in places to begin and end each day.
Coastal showers will also move up along the east coast, but will be isolated.
