Under the directives of the political leadership and in continuation of Egypt’s leading role in supporting the Palestinian brothers, the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, represented by the General Committee for Foreign Aid, announced the dispatch of relief convoy No. 15 to the Gaza Strip, in cooperation with the Catholic Relief Agency, today,  on Sunday, 21 December, 2025.

Convoy No. 15 is a continuation of the series of Egyptian relief convoys launched by the Foreign Aid Committee since the outbreak of the crisis. The convoy carries urgent relief items comprising 12,000 mattresses, 16,300 blankets and 4,000 mats, with a total weight of around 136 tonnes, in consideration of the humanitarian situation in the Strip and to meet the basic needs of the people of Gaza and help alleviate their suffering under the difficult humanitarian conditions.

Dr Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, affirmed that the ministry, through the General Committee for Foreign Aid, is keen to intensify cooperation with international organisations to ensure the swift delivery of assistance, noting that the launch of the new convoy continues the series of shipments the ministry has sent since the crisis began.

The minister explained that the ministry has so far sent 15 relief convoys in cooperation with the Catholic Relief Agency, delivering some 1,766 tonnes of humanitarian aid carried on 255 lorries and five aircraft. The consignments included tents, blankets, mattresses, woven mats, general and personal hygiene supplies and essential household items, as part of Egypt’s ongoing efforts to support the brotherly Palestinian people.

Dr Farouk emphasized that Egypt will continue to provide all forms of humanitarian support to the Palestinian people, stressing that the ministry will keep dispatching further convoys in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure a continuous flow of aid and to ease the suffering of residents inside the Strip.

Mr. Ahmed Fathy, Vice‑Chairman of the Board of the General Committee for Foreign Aid, said the current convoy is an extension of the committee’s efforts to provide continuous support and to strengthen cooperation with donor bodies, explaining that the convoy’s contents were carefully prepared to meet the day‑to‑day needs of the people in the Strip under the present humanitarian circumstances.

The vice‑chairman confirmed that, in cooperation with the Catholic Relief Agency and its office in Gaza, the actual urgent relief needs are being identified as a basis for preparing and launching forthcoming convoys, ensuring that assistance is directed accurately to meet the priorities and needs of the people in the Gaza Strip.
