A TTC streetcar derailed early Sunday morning after a crash with a car at a busy downtown Toronto intersection, said police.

Officers responded around 5:39 a.m. near Richmond Street W. and Bay Street to reports of a collision, said police on social media.

Toronto Fire told CBC News a streetcar was “fully” off the tracks, adding crews cleared the scene once TTC staff and police arrived.

Roads in the area were reopened as of 9:11 a.m. and vehicles involved in the crash had been moved from the intersection, said Toronto police.

They said there were no injuries and are investigating how the collision took place.

The westbound 501 Queen streetcar and 19 Bay bus in both directions resumed regular service after taking detours due to the accident , said the TTC.
