Ireland rugby star Tadhg Beirne is swapping scrums for sleepless nights as he welcomed his first child with wife Harriet Beirne.
The couple who tied the knot in 2022 at Kilkea Castle announced that they were expecting a little one back in August on their wedding anniversary.
They revealed the happy news on Sunday, and family, friends and families rushed to congradulate the couple as they had welcomed their baby safely into the world.
Keeping the message short, sweet and simple, Harriet wrote: ‘Penelope Robyn Berine,’ with a small, white and fluffy cloud emoji placed beside her name.
She also shared a first look at their newborn in an adorable picture that showed Robyn and Penelope holding hands, with Tadhg’s hand holding them both- demonstrating how he will forever protect them both.

The name, Penelope, has a beautiful meaning and originates in Ancient Greece. Many may remember it from Homer’s Odyssey, as the wife of Odysseus.
It represents loyalty, intellectual abilities – so it looks like she will have a bright future ahead.

Tadgh and Harriet first met on a night out in Cardiff in 2018 and spent the early days of their romance making things work long-distance before she eventually made the move here.
When lockdown struck, the couple were able to spend more time together, and their relationship deepened. He popped the question during Christmas that year.
After announcing their pregnancy, Harriet revealed that their road to parenthood hadn’t been an easy one.
Congratulations, Harriet and Tadgh!
