Met Éireann is predicting sunny spells with scattered showers for today, although some longer spells of rain will spread from the southeast of the country to the northwest.
Highest temperatures for today will range between 5 and 10 degrees, the forecaster said.
Outbreaks of rain will continue into the night, with the best of the clear spells expected in Munster and Connacht, with lowest temperatures expected range between 2 and 9 degrees nationwide.
Similar weather is expected for Monday, with further outbreaks of rain and drizzle, and only occasional sunny spells.
Mist and fog will linger in some places throughout the day, with highest temperatures of between 6 to 11 degrees.
The fog will persist into Tuesday morning, but a largely dry day is forecast, with some light rain near the coasts.
Some clear spells can be expected for Tuesday night, with possible spots of light rain or drizzle near eastern coasts.
The rest of the week is expected to be largely dry and cool, with a few light showers and highs of 4 to 8 degrees.
