Two people are dead after an RV caught fire in Surrey, B.C., on Sunday evening, according to police.
Officers arrived at the scene around 9 p.m. PT, in the 12200 block of 102 Avenue, to find an RV trailer parked in a driveway and fully engulfed in flames, according to Surrey Police Service (SPS) spokesperson Ian MacDonald.
He said 10 people were safely evacuated from the adjacent home, which was not damaged.
However, after firefighters put out the blaze, they discovered two people had been trapped inside the RV, MacDonald said.
“We’re dealing with a tragic circumstance,” he said.
He said witnesses have reported the two people were residing in the RV at the time.
Both Surrey police and fire investigators were on scene Monday morning working to determine the cause of the fire. They are asking anyone with information to contact the SPS at 604-599-0502 and quote file 25-113610 (SP).
