A 16-year-old girl who was seriously injured when she was hit by a car in Leeds earlier this month remains in a critical but stable condition, police have said.

The teenager was struck by a white Ford Fiesta being driven on Barwick Road, close to the Seacroft roundabout, at about 20:00 GMT on Saturday 13 December.

A man, 31, who was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving over the prescribed limit of drink and drugs, theft of a motor vehicle and causing serious injury remained on bail pending further inquiries, officers said.

Anyone who saw a white “11” plate Fiesta in the Asda car park on York Road in the time leading up to the collision was asked to contact police.
