A man is dead after a vehicle crashed into a business in Toronto on Wednesday, said police.
Officers responded around 2:28 p.m. near Dufferin Street and Finch Avenue W. to “reports of a vehicle into a building,” said Toronto police on social media.
The driver of the vehicle lost control in a parking lot, drove into a nearby business and struck three people inside, said Insp. Jon Rose at a news conference at the scene.
He said one person was trapped by the vehicle in the building and was later pronounced dead at the scene. First responders “worked diligently” to free the man from the wreckage, said Rose.
The victim’s next of kin has been notified, he said.

A female pedestrian was taken to hospital via trauma run and another pedestrian was transported for non-life threatening injuries, said police.
They added that the driver remained at the scene. The driver and a passenger were taken to hospital with minor injuries, said police.
Rose said the investigation into the collision is underway. He urged any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage to reach out to police.
