A 19-year-old man who was driving a vehicle that crashed in Dartmouth earlier this year, resulting in the deaths of two passengers, has been charged with multiple counts of impaired driving.
Halifax Regional Police say Tomas Ryan MacEachern, who was behind the wheel of the car when it struck a tree on School Street in Dartmouth on Sept. 25, is now facing the following charges:Â
Operating a conveyance impaired causing death (2 counts).Operating a conveyance over the legal limit causing death (2 counts).Dangerous operation of a conveyance causing death (2 counts).Flight from a peace officer.
The two passengers, a 19-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man, died from injuries sustained in the crash. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the man died later in hospital.
MacEachern will next appear in Dartmouth provincial court on Feb. 23.Â
