Dogs attend Mount Bures church for Christmas Eve service

She opened the doors to people’s pets after learning many of the congregation travelled with them in tow as part of their festive plans.

But Ms Barr admitted it could be “chaotic”, especially for the resident organist.

“She tries to slightly overcome the dog singing – we do have a lot of dog singing,” she said.

The special service marked the continuation of what is becoming a tradition at the church.

Dogs of “all shapes and sizes” were brought along to the latest instalment.

Ms Barr added: “I have my little terrier, Brenda, who comes to church with me regularly.

“She gets a little miffed that there’s a lot of dogs in her house on Christmas Eve, but she is very kindly letting them all in.”
