Toronto police are appealing for information after a man was killed and several others injured by a vehicle that smashed into a store in a North York plaza on Christmas Eve.

Officers were called to 4400 Dufferin Street – a plaza south of Finch Avenue West – shortly before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday for a collision.

According to police, a 93-year-old man driving a Nissan Murano lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons and drove into a storefront, hitting six people.

One of the people who was struck – a 67-year-old man – was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two women were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, along with the driver and his female passenger, who sustained minor injuries.

Three other people sustained minor injuries but were not transported to hospital, police said.

In a news release Thursday, investigators said they’re asking anyone who may have been in the area and who heard or saw anything or who may have video footage to reach out to police.
