One very lucky Aussie will enter 2026 a newly minted multi-millionaire after scoring a whopping $20 million on Christmas Day. But it appears they’re none the wiser.

The mystery Adelaide resident had a winning finish to their festivities, holding the only division-one ticket in Thursday’s Powerball draw 1545. And if they’d registered their entry, they would already be celebrating in style, officials from The Lott said.

“Our elusive winner is likely oblivious to the fact they became a multi-millionaire on Christmas Day,” spokesperson Matt Hart said, adding he hopes the winner steps forward soon.

“We’re encouraging anyone who purchased a Powerball ticket from Colannades Lotto Kiosk to check their tickets today!

“Just imagine how exhilarating it would be to discover you won a prize of this magnitude on Christmas Day! Your plans for the New Year and beyond could be upgraded instantly!”

The winning numbers for Powerball draw 1545 were 7, 23, 29, 20, 11, 16 and 17. The all-important Powerball number was 17.

“Make sure you check your tickets, and if you discover you are holding the winning ticket, contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the prize claim process,” Hart urged punters.

Previously speaking to Yahoo News, officials from The Lott revealed that Powerball has recorded the highest number of division-one winning entries in the past five years.

The South Australian resident is now joining the ranks.

“Just picture finding out you’ve suddenly become a multi-millionaire on Christmas Day. In one moment, everything changes – it’d be the ultimate Christmas surprise, nothing could ever top it!” The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell told Yahoo News

“$20 million would absolutely change your life, leading to endless possibilities — your new car, a dream home, and the holiday of a lifetime.”

Powerball winner’s kind offer after scoring $20 million prize

The last person to score an entire $20 million Powerball division-one prize was a woman from Ipswich, Queensland.

After learning of her newfound wealth in March, the lucky punter could barely contain her excitement as she shared her plans for the money.

“Oh my God! Oh my God! You’re joking!” she gasped when speaking to an official from The Lott.

“I don’t play every week, but when I do, I usually check in the morning. I sometimes win small amounts like $11 here and there, but I can’t believe I’ve just won $20 million!”

The woman revealed she would be “seeking financial advice right away” and planned on helping her children pay off their mortgages.

“…and I might finally take a holiday! I haven’t had one in years. My passport must be expired. I’ll have to get it renewed!” she added.
