Week 16 brought some clarity to the NFL playoff picture, but there’s still work to be done for teams to get in and for others to improve seeding.
Things got underway in Week 17 with a Christmas Day tripleheader, as the Dallas Cowboys covered the spread against the Washington Commanders while the Detroit Lions lost straight up to the Minnesota Vikings and the Kansas City Chiefs lost but nonetheless covered as 12.5-point home dogs to the Denver Broncos.

Saturday offers a pair of tight matchups, with the Houston Texans (10-5) heading west to take on the Los Angeles Chargers (11-4) and the Green Bay Packers (9-5-1) hosting the Baltimore Ravens (7-8).
Sunday’s early slate of games includes several matchups with playoff implications, including the red-hot Jacksonville Jaguars (11-4) visiting the Indianapolis Colts (8-6).
In Sunday’s late window, the Buffalo Bills (11-4) host the Philadelphia Eagles (10-5) in a potential Super Bowl preview. The Eagles have already clinched the NFC East, and the Bills are trying to wrap up a playoff berth.
The NFC North-leading Chicago Bears (11-4) and San Francisco 49ers (10-4), which both secured playoff spots in Week 16, will meet on “Sunday Night Football.”
The week closes out with the Super Bowl favorite Los Angeles Rams (11-4) visiting the Atlanta Falcons (6-9) on “Monday Night Football.”
