A pedestrian is dead following a collision involving a passenger vehicle in eastern Ontario Friday evening, provincial police say.
The collision occurred around 7:45 p.m. on County Road 17 in the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet, Hawkesbury OPP said in a media release.
The pedestrian, a 48-year-old man from Hawkesbury, was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to the hospital.Â
The OPP, along with its traffic and incident management and enforcement team, is investigating the cause of the collision.Â
As of 12:30 p.m. Saturday, County Road 17 was still closed between Boundary and Lajeunesse roads.
