Traffic disruption is expected to last for several hours this morning after a crash on the A20.

National Highways says the A20 between A256 for Dover and B2011 at Capel-le-Ferne is closed and is expected to remain so for “most of the morning”.

It comes after an HGV left the carriageway following a collision.

A police spokesperson told KentOnline: “Kent Police was called at around 1.20am on Sunday to a report of an overturned lorry on the side of the A20 near Dover.

“Officers attended and have closed the London-bound carriageway while the vehicle is recovered.”

National Highways said: “The closure is required to ensure the safety of officers and specialist recovery crews working at the scene, and recovery operations are expected to take most of the morning.”

A diversion route is in place.
