Former Liverpool FC striker Andy Carroll has been charged by police ahead of appearing in court. Carroll, who appeared played for Liverpool 58 times, has been charged by police for breaching a non-molestation order after being arrested in April.

The alleged offences are reported to have happened in March, with the 36-year-old being arrested on April 27 and is now due in court next week.

In a statement released by Essex Police to the ECHO, a spokesperson said: “A man has been charged with breaching a non-molestation order.

Andrew Carroll, 36, of Epping, was arrested on 27 April and the alleged offences relate to an incident in March.

“He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on 30 December.”

The striker, who earned himself nine caps for England, was once the Reds’ record signing when he arrived on Merseyside for £35m from Newcastle but after managing just 11 goals in his 58 appearances for Liverpool he was sold to West Ham.

But from their his career continued to dip, playing for Reading and West Brom before moving to French club Amiens and then spending a season at Bordeaux in the country’s fourth tier.

A non-molestation order is an injunction issued by a civil court, usually aimed at preventing a person from approaching, contacting, or being near another individual, their address, or both.

People who breach one, depending on the circumstances, can face criminal action resulting in a jail term of up to five years.

The 36-year-old currently plays for National League side Dagenham and Redbridge where he was sent off on his debut game for the club shortly after signing a three-year deal in the summer.

Posting on Instagram on December 27, Carroll shared family photos, including of his children and with partner Lou Teasedale.

Carroll had previously been married to The Only Way is Essex star Billi Mucklow before their marriage ended after being together for 11 years and having three children together.

The couple secretly split before rumours swirled of Carroll’s romance with hairstylist Lou Teasedale.

Less than two years after marrying. Andy announced the split from Billi on Instagram in 2024. He said at the time: “Billi and I have privately separated earlier this year and we are under way with our divorce proceedings.”
