A man has been arrested after a woman was left with “life-altering injuries” in a crash on the A606 in Nottinghamshire.

Police said a Vauxhall Astra and a Vauxhall Mokka were involved in the collision on Melton Road near Normanton-on-the-Wolds at about 20:20 GMT on Saturday.

The passenger in the Astra, a 24-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with “serious” injuries and remained there in a “critical but stable” condition,” Nottinghamshire Police said.

At the crash scene, officers arrested a 26-year-old man – whom they said was driving the Astra – on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
